The PTP Refresher Course provides an overview of topics, key references and independent study materials by topic for practicing planners who intend to take the PTP certification examination. The course includes a suite of six (6) 60-70-minute on-demand recordings on land use and transportation relationships, data and needs assessment for short- and long-range planning, planning analysis, transportation system evaluation, environmental analysis, and plan implementation.

Course Overview

The PTP Refresher Course provides an overview of key topics, references, and independent study materials for practicing transportation planners preparing for the Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) Certification Exam. Modern transportation planning places increased emphasis on active transportation, context-sensitive solutions, and complete streets, while continuing to address the needs of all users. Planners are also expected to work effectively with stakeholders and the public, recognizing that public policies related to sustainability, equity, and livability are as critical as capital projects and programs in delivering effective transportation plans.

Course Materials

The course includes:

All materials are available within the course modules.

PDH Credit – 7.5 PDHs

Participants earn 7.5 PDH credits upon completion of the full course series.

To earn PDH credit, participants must:

  • Complete all pre-recorded modules

  • Submit the required module evaluations

A PDH Credit certificate will be issued upon successful completion.

Important

  • PDH credit is not awarded to multiple attendees viewing together at one location.

  • PDH credits earned from a certification refresher course do not apply toward the first renewal of the same certification.

  • PDH credits may be applied toward the renewal of a different certification, provided the subject matter is relevant.

Policy

This course is non-refundable.

Participants have 90 days from the date of purchase to complete the course. If the course is not completed within this period, it must be repurchased to regain access.
